Synopsis

Nutrition is a process in which the body uses nutrients to regain and maintain health. In order to maintain vitality and cellular activities, and to ensure growth and development, nutrients must be taken into the body and used by the organism. The purpose of nutrition is the individual's adequate intake of necessary nutrients according to age, gender, and physiological environment. Taking as much as the organism needs from all food groups constitutes an adequate and balanced diet. Adequate and balanced nutrition while it affects health positively, inadequate unbalanced nutrition and wrong eating habits affect health negatively. It prepares the infrastructure for the formation of various diseases. In addition, nutritional methods applied to some diseases are beneficial in the treatment of diseases. The level of health, economic status, eating habits, food choices, and psychosocial and cultural structure of individuals affect nutrition. One of the most important factors affecting nutrition is that the individual or society has nutrition education and can transfer the information they have learned to their lives.
