Synopsis

Dental implants are an effective treatment option used to replace missing teeth and provide an aesthetic and functional smile. Properly designing and placing the implant-supported prosthesis is important for successful treatment outcomes. Therefore, the impression is a critical step that affects the success of implant treatment. Accurate impressions enable proper implant placement, optimal design of the implant-supported prosthesis, and increased patient satisfaction. This step is performed by considering the shape, size, and other important parameters of the implant.

In the dental implant impression process, it can be carried out using intraoral scanners or convensional impression materials. Technological advancements utilized in the impression step allow for more precise results, particularly with the integration of digital intraoral scanning systems and software. Digital impression methods enable capturing intraoral images through scanners and transforming these images into three-dimensional models. This facilitates a faster, more accurate, and more comfortable impression experience. When taking dental implant impression, patient comfort and obtaining accurate data are important. The impression procedure should be performed meticulously, considering the condition of the oral tissues and the implant. Factors such as optical noise, artifacts, and user experience can affect the clarity and accuracy of the obtained impressions.

In conclusion, dental implant impression is a critical step in achieving successful implant treatment outcomes. Technological advancements and digital impression methods contribute to obtaining more precise and reliable results. This has the potential to enhance the quality of life and aesthetic appearance of patients undergoing implant treatment.
