E-sports has started to attract great attention in Turkey as well as all over the world. Especially the successes of Turkish e-sports teams and the championships they won have further increased the youth's orientation towards e-sports. Beşiktaş being the first professional sports club to open an e-sports branch in the world, the establishment of the Turkish E-Sports Federation, and then the opening of e-sports branches by many of our professional sports clubs are some important examples of the development of e-sports in Turkey. In addition, the degree of importance given to e-sports has increased with the establishment of e-sports clubs in universities in our country and the opening of optional e-sports courses in Sports Sciences Faculties and Physical Education and Sports Schools. With the entrance of universities to e-sports, it has paved the way for scientific research on e-sports. In our country, e-sports research has gained momentum in recent years. The literature of our country provides important contributions to the world literature in order to illuminate all aspects of e-sports. In this section, current research on different components of e-sports in Turkey has been reviewed and summarized.
