Synopsis

This study investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on companies operating in the manufacturing sector registered in Borsa Istanbul. In this context, the publicly shared financial statements of 26 manufacturing companies operating in the food, beverage and tobacco sub-sector within the manufacturing sector between the years 2015-2021 were examined. The data obtained from the financial statements were evaluated with the integrated Entropy-based TOPSIS method. In the evaluation made with the entropy method, it has been seen that the receivable turnover rate, current ratio, debt ratio and asset turnover rate stand out as the most important criteria. As a result of the evaluations made with the entropy-based TOPSIS method, financial ratios that are important for companies to stand out financially have been determined. It is recommended that companies examine the receivables turnover, asset turnover, current ratio and debt ratios and make the necessary improvements if these criteria are below the sector averages.
