Synopsis

Electronic commerce is one of the areas affected by rapidly developing technology. This effect has become a necessary support, especially for micro-enterprises. However, businesses that want to switch to electronic commerce or are already operating face some difficulties. Especially in micro-level small businesses, these difficulties and problems arise more and more intensely. This study aims to determine the approaches of micro-scale retail businesses operating in Kütahya to electronic commerce and their challenges. According to the survey results, businesses do not prefer e-commerce because of customers' inability to bargain, lack of physical contact with products, and lack of face-to-face communication. In addition, collection times on marketplace sites, problems arising from cargo companies, and difficulties in e-commerce platforms are essential obstacles. These findings are significant for understanding the problems micro-scale enterprises face in electronic commerce and developing solutions. Businesses must improve customer experience, increase reliability, and optimize logistics processes. It is also essential to facilitate the use of e-commerce platforms. In this way, micro-enterprises can be more successful in electronic commerce and increase their competitiveness.
