Synopsis

According to the World Health Organization, Salmonella has been reported as one of the important global causes of diarrheal diseases. Especially, contaminated poultry meat and products, also contaminated foods of animal origin and plant foods cause foodborne salmonellosis. The fact that Salmonella serovars considered responsible for foodborne infections have multidrug resistance emphasizes the importance of Salmonella for public health and food safety.
