Synopsis

The retail industry accounts for a large portion of businesses that provide products and services to consumers, and store location selection is a critical factor that directly affects the success of these businesses. In recent years, physical stores, from large shopping malls to stores in smaller and secluded locations, have been exposed to intense competition with the influence of internet retailers. Nowadays, it is seen that customer traffic in physical stores has decreased, many stores have closed and most shopping malls have become deserted. However, some shopping malls remain vibrant, and certain physical stores are in demand. In an intensely competitive environment, the success of a retailer is largely possible by finding the right store location, which is also expressed as a 100% location. After retailers examine alternative commercial areas, determining the most accurate location, alternative store building location or store location within the building requires comprehensive analysis. In this section, scientific methods and computer applications that can be used for store location selection are included. Additionally, the use of store location models in digital retailing is mentioned.
