Synopsis

By integrating with digital technologies which have developed and changed from past to present, the concept of communication has evolved into visualization in the web environment. Particularly during the pandemic process, activities requiring individual or collective participation have been disrupted and artistic events have turned into online exhibitions as needed. Within the frameworf of these developments, the diversification of exhibition activities from physical spaces to virtual and interactive brings the importance of the concept of interactive design to the agenda. The creation of online exhibitions as a form of exhibition has provided functionality to event access by providing fast data flow to the user.

This study tries to analyze the visual content and information of online exhibitions in the field of fine arts in the context of interactive design in tables. This study gathered data and this data evaluated by creating tables, and the subject and content of the works of the online exhibitions were determined. The research is descriptive scanning model, one of the qualitative research methods. In addition to the literature review on the subject, the study was conducted through document review and observation. The names of the online group exhibitions discussed based on the research within the context of interactive design are coded sequentially as S1, S2, S3, S4 in terms of ethics. When the online group exhibitions discussed based on the research within the context of interactive design were examined, it has been figured out that all of them were subject/technique free, in jpg format and 300 dpi resolution, and received applications with the exhibition information form and work participation form. It has been concluded that the language options of the events, the way of exhibiting the works, whether the artist biography and work title information are included or not, preferred size and fonts, color and page margins vary. It was concluded that the square format was generally used in the event catalogs and the works participating in the event were placed within a design template of the exhibition, except for the S1 event.

With the help of this study, the visually observed information and contents of online group exhibitions were examined and their differences were revealed by comparisons. It has been expected that the findings will contribute to the literature significantly.
