Synopsis

Research in the field of Educational Sciences shows that some problems related to education have been increasing in recent years. These problems include school dropouts, increased absenteeism, behavioral disorders such as bullying, and decreased academic success. In modern society, the workload of parents, fragmented families, the development of technology, and the increase in social media interaction are among the reasons for these problems. In order for individual students, institutional schools, and therefore the education system to be successful, all stakeholders of education must be in communication together. In addition to its role in increasing the economic, social and cultural capital of individuals and societies, the education system is also affected by the economic, social and cultural capital of individuals and families. Studies reveal the importance of parents being aware of and participating in educational activities in eliminating educational deficiencies. In this context, family participation in education becomes a situation related to the social capital of the family and increases the social capital of both individuals and schools as institutions. It is recommended that institutions carry out active studies and practices regarding family participation within the educational goals of a society.
