Synopsis

Individuals do not participate in sports activities only to improve their physical characteristics and be healthy. Among the reasons why individuals participate in sports are psychological well-being reasons. Athletes use visualization to improve their psychological performance. Many studies have shown us that imagination and motivation are important concepts for achieving success in sports. In sports visualization, the individual performs well by visualizing that he is doing his best. Participation in sports is of great importance for living a healthy life and for individuals to benefit from psychosocial health benefits. Individuals who tend to do sports in order to be healthy and achieve sporting success can use concepts such as imagery and motivation, which have become popular in recent years, to relieve or eliminate the pressure they feel, to increase their performance, to gain a positive perspective about the branch of sports they do, and to motivate themselves for training and competition. They can use it as an important power. In this study, imagery and motivation in sports were examined in the light of the literature.
