Synopsis

The agricultural sector is a fundamental sector for meeting the nutritional needs of people and is the livelihood of many people around the world. However, the agricultural sector, like other sectors, needs development. With the rapid development of technology, the use of digital technologies in the agricultural sector is also increasing. These technologies are used to increase the productivity of the agricultural sector, to ensure sustainability and to reduce costs. Digital twin technology is among these technologies. Digital twin technology is the creation of a virtual copy of a real object. This technology can be used in many areas such as plants, animals, land and production in the agricultural sector. The innovations brought by this technology to the agricultural sector have been the subject of many academic studies. In this article, the innovations brought by digital twin technology in agriculture in terms of plants, animals, land and production will be discussed and the results of academic studies will be included.
