Interpretations of Dreams : Khidr (Elijah), Islamic Belief and Freud

Synopsis

Dream and interpretation of dreams, which has been a subject of interest for human being since old ages, has become a science at the present day. While the answers that this science has sought forhave partially changed, a trait has never changed since first of the human kind that dreams may give signs as regards future lives.

Hızır Dreams are highly revered in Tunceli and around as they give signs for future too. These dreams are seen only for a month in January and February of every year. This study is conducted through face to face interview with 140 men and women in Tunceli and Ovacık. Out of 164 dreams, 66 dreams have been interpreted individually according to the method of interpretation by Freud, Jung, İbni Şirin, Nablusi and Hızır.

It has been determined that our interpretation of the dreams partially conform to the interpretation of other scientist.
