Synopsis

Nowadays, the primary factors affecting success in native language teaching are affective qualities that depend on learner characteristics. Research shows that factors such as anxiety, attitude, self-efficacy and motivation, which are the main affective qualities in the development of the four basic language skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) that constitute native language teaching, affect students' ability to use the language effectively. Each student's affective quality towards the mother tongue may be different during the teaching process. Revealing these differences and providing students with self-awareness of their native language depends on the teacher's approach as well as teaching methods and classroom activities. Affective learning experiences of students; It affects the acts of reading, listening, speaking and writing positively and negatively. To determine students' affective qualities with various measurement tools at the beginning and end of the education; Trying to solve anxiety, negative attitudes and motivation problems, and ensuring self-efficacy in language skills increase academic success and the ability to use the language in teaching the mother tongue. The aim of this study is to explain the affective qualities that affect the development of four basic language skills in Turkish teaching, within the framework of the literature, and to explain the practices and activities that teachers should do towards affective reactions. As a result of the literature review; It was concluded that the level of affective response should be determined at the beginning of teaching, each affective quality is at different levels in students and therefore activities should be shaped according to personal needs, each affective quality affects the individual in different ways, and affective qualities are in a relationship with each other. This study, which examines affective factors such as anxiety, attitude, self-efficacy and motivation in teaching Turkish as a native language, is a literature review.
