Synopsis

While the changes in people's lifestyles, the sedentary environment of business life and sustainable environmental goals increase the importance of bicycles, they encourage interest and investments in bicycle tourism. Bicycle routes with natural and historical beauties are brought to the fore in this regard, and therefore, it is seen as an important opportunity to take advantage of the Historical Silk Road, whose foundations were laid in the 2nd century BC, starting from China, to Europe via Anatolia and the Mediterranean, and to Africa via the red Sea. The purpose of this study; to evaluate the silk road, which is known as the trade, transportation and communication network all over the world, within the scope of bicycle tourism in the Turkish world, to raise awareness for bicycle tourists that they can have a nostalgic experience on this historical route, and to draw the attention of other stakeholders of the sector to the meaning and importance of this value. In this context, bicycle tourism, which is increasing in importance day by day in the world and has limited studies in Turkish literature, has been discussed in different dimensions, digital resources have been scanned with document analysis management, the cultural value of the Silk Road has been emphasized and its importance for the Turkish world within the scope of bicycle tourism has been stated.
