Theaim of thisstudy is todeterminethemetaphoricalperceptions of thefirstyearstudentsstudying at theCoachingDepartment of theFaculty of Sports Sciencesabouttheconcept ofswimming. A total of 20 studentsfrom Giresun UniversityFaculty of Sports ScienceCoachingDepartmentparticipated in thestudy. The data andtheresultsareopen-ended.Formetaphoranalysis, "Swimming is...... for me. Because .........'' wereaskedtofill in thequestions. The data wereevaluatedbycontentanalysisand a total of 15 metaphorswererevealedunder 3 main themes.Similar statements through content analysisgrouped under appropriatecategories.As a result of the analysis of the datathat the students produced 15 metaphor for the concept of swimming.They mostly explain the concept with the concepts of "entertainment, sport, activity and muscles".seen.The metaphors produced were gathered under the themes of life, sports and health, taking into account the reasons for the production.1 form with 1 stagewasused.
