Synopsis

Young people constitute a population group whose importance is constantly increasing for all countries in the rapidly globalizing world. In order for countries to develop socially and economically and maintain their social existence, the importance they give to the young population must be increased, and in this context, young people must be supported in terms of education, training, socio-cultural, psychological and economic aspects. Although young individuals are an important part of the country's population, they also appear to be one of the most vulnerable and fragile groups in today's societies. Among the factors that determine the fragility in question, we encounter the concept of youth unemployment, which affects almost all of the dimensions mentioned above. Youth unemployment is not only an economic problem with its unemployment dimension, but also a phenomenon that has the risk of turning into a structural problem with its psychological and socio-cultural dimensions that affect the social order and that countries must solve.

It is seen that globalization, while increasing social welfare, also brings with it some weakness that leads to inequality in the labor market. It is understood that a series of social and economic policies are needed in order to raise the level of human development, ensure development and move it to a sustainable level, and solve youth unemployment before it becomes a structural problem. When evaluated from this perspective, the concept of green jobs stands out as the determining factor in developing decent employment (green economy) and ensuring full participation in employment. For this purpose, it is thought that explaining the concepts in question and revealing their connection with each other will be useful and will contribute to the creation of sustainable policies for the structural problems of youth unemployment.
