Synopsis

Reflexology, a branch of Complementary and Integrative Health Approaches, is an art and reflex therapy method that approaches the individual holistically. In order to determine the effects of reflexology on women in the postpartum period, the literature was scanned using Web of Science and Pubmed databases. Interventional studies on the effects of reflexology on women in the postpartum period were reviewed. It has been determined that there are interventional studies on reflexology to increase the amount of breast milk in the postpartum period, improve sleep quality, reduce post-operative cesarean section pain and improve vital signs (respiratory rate, fever, pulse and blood pressure). It has been determined that there are a limited number of interventional studies using reflexology in the postpartum period. It is thought that nurses' use of reflexology practices while caring for women in the postpartum period may contribute to improving care outcomes in the postpartum period.
