Synopsis

In many advanced countries, including the United States, rapid technological and industrial development has led to various environmental issues. This study aims to investigate the impact of renewable energy production, industrial production index, and economic growth on the environmental policy index. For this purpose, Asymmetric Causality and Fourier ADL Cointegration tests were conducted using 459 monthly data points from the United States spanning from 1981 to 2019. The findings suggest that the explanatory variables have a positive and significant impact on the environmental policy index. According to the results of the study, it is observed that renewable energy production, accompanied by industrialization and economic growth, influences the environmental policy index in the United States. These results provide important insights for policymakers and stakeholders
