Synopsis

The aim of this work is to reveal the effect of paternalistic leadership on the institutionalization of ethics. Within the scope of this purpose, a field study was conducted in the Turkish pharmaceutical industry. It is anticipated that the research will guide practitioners by revealing the effects of leadership style on the institutionalization of ethics. In the work, the concept of institutionalization of ethics is explained and the direct and indirect forms of institutionalization in relation to the institutionalization of ethics in organizations are discussed. Based on the data obtained from the studies on the institutionalization of ethics, a research was conducted to determine the effect of leadership styles on the institutionalization of ethics. First of all, the pharmaceutical industry in which the research was conducted was introduced, and then the data obtained from the pilot research and field research were presented by giving place to the purpose, method, model and hypotheses of the research. The work is completed with conclusions and recommendations that are expected to make meaningful contributions to the sector.
