Synopsis

Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects more than half a billion people worldwide. Studies show that the number of people exposed to the disease is increasing day by day. Due to the prevalence of the disease, the subject is remarkable for researchers. Due to the side effects of insulin and antidiabetic drugs used in the treatment of diabetes, many alternative treatment methods are sought. Therefore, the use of plants in the treatment of diabetes and the development of new drugs to be obtained in this way are very important for the treatment of the disease. There are many herbs that people use to treat diabetes with traditional methods. Among the results of various studies conducted in this direction, it has been determined that some herbal applications keep blood sugar levels under control, while some herbal applications relieve or prevent diabetic complications. After these developments, the treatment of the disease with herbal products is preferred as a complementary treatment method in the world and in our country. There are many plants used in the treatment of diabetes and as a supplementary treatment in Turkey. This study includes diabetes studies with olive, cinnamon, black cumin, fenugreek, onion and garlic plants that are frequently used in the treatment of diabetes in Turkey.
