Bacillus cereus, is an important foodborne pathogenic bacteria, that causes food poisoning and toxiinfection and can be found in various environmental sources, especially in soil. It poses a potential threat to food safety and public health, because it is a spore-forming bacterium and its spores are resistant to heat, it can grow at refrigerator temperature, and produces toxins. However, the number of food poisonings caused by B. cereus is always not known, because it has mild and short duration of symptoms.
