Examining The Relationship Between Courage Levels of Athletes and Mindfulness
Synopsis
The aim of the research is to examine the courage and mindfulness of athletes in sports and to determine the relationship between them. The mean age of the study was 23.27±5.87 and the sports age was 10.00±4.26; A total of 201, 86 women and 115 men, team and individual athletes were included. In the research, the scale of courage in sports and the scale of mindfulness in sports were used as data collection tools. As a statistical method in the analysis of data; descriptive statistics (frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation); Mann-Whitney U test Analysis, Spearman Correlation Analysis were used. Confidence level was taken as 05 in the applied statistical tests. According to the results obtained, it was determined that there is a moderate positive correlation between the total score of the courage scale in sports and the total score of the mindfulness scale and refocusing sub-dimensions, and a low level of positive correlation with the awareness dimension. In the research, in the sub-dimensions of the mindfulness scale according to gender, age, sports year and branch; It was not determined that there was a significant difference in the courage levels of the athletes according to the sports age and sports year. As a result, it was observed that as the level of mindfulness in sports increased, the level of courage in sports increased as well.
