Synopsis

The century we are living in is characterized by the fastest and most profound transformations in human history. Classical management theories, shaped amidst the mechanical gears of the Industrial Revolution, are questioning their validity in the “Digital Age”, dominated by artificial intelligence, big data, and hyper-connected networks. A new transformation process is underway, where hierarchy is being replaced by network structures, the chain of command by agile teams, and intuitive decisions by data-driven strategies.

This work, entitled “Management Science in the Digital Age: New Paradigms”, was born from a need at the very heart of this transformation. The main aim of our book is to decipher the changing codes of management science in this seemingly chaotic new order brought about by digitalization and to offer a reliable compass to academics, students, and professionals who will build the organizations of the future. This study aims not only to examine the impact of technology on management science, but also to explore the “new normals” emerging in every field, from leadership and strategic management practices to classical workspaces and shared offices, from bureaucracy to algorithmic bureaucracy, digital governance in decision-making processes, artificial intelligence literacy and from traditional ethics to digital ethics.

The creation of this work is undoubtedly the product of long-term effort and collective consciousness. First and foremost, I extend my deepest gratitude to our expert chapter authors and colleagues who generously shared their knowledge and research, contributing to this book. Their intellectual contributions made it possible to create the multifaceted structure of this work. I also express my gratitude to the Özgür Yayınları family and technical team, who worked meticulously at every step from the idea stage to the printing process, facilitating the dissemination of knowledge. Their support ensured that this work reached the reader in its highest quality form. With the hope that this book will answer questions about the digital future of management science and inspire the asking of new questions…
