Synopsis

Climate change is a global issue whose effects are becoming increasingly visible worldwide. However, the effects of climate change manifest differently among various social groups. In particular, vulnerable communities that lack adequate infrastructure to combat the effects of climate change experience the consequences of the climate crisis more severely. In addition, the effects of climate change have different impacts on individuals based on demographic variables such as age, gender, education, and income level. The tourism sector, due to its fragile structure, can be directly affected by the climate crisis and can contribute to climate change if it continues its activities in an unconscious and unplanned manner. The aim of this book chapter is to explain the two-way relationship between climate change and tourism from the perspective of climate justice. To this end, the concept of climate change and the two-way relationship between climate change and tourism are first explained. Finally, the concept of climate justice, based on the concept of environmental justice, is explained, and climate justice in tourism is evaluated from a holistic perspective, covering all its dimensions.
