In Turkish political life, the struggle for democracy and elections have been among the issues on the agenda of political elites, bureaucrats, and social segments or voter groups. Elections have been emphasized in political discussions, and vital importance has been attributed to each election. The 2023 Presidential and general elections were one such election. While every election is important in terms of reflecting the voters' preferences and in the context of democracy, it should be noted that the 2023 elections are significant in terms of whether the new system, the Presidential Government System, is approved by the voters.

The first section of this study provides a brief overview of Turkish political life in the Republican era before the 2023 general elections. The 2023 general elections and the formation of power are examined within a general framework. The second section of the study deals with the alliances that emerged during the Presidential Government System process, as well as alliances and election processes that were previously formed without a legal framework. Alliances whose legal framework was established through the constitutional amendment made during the Presidential Government System process are also examined within this scope. Initially, the emergence of two main alliances, the People's Alliance and the Nation's Alliance, in the first phase, and the subsequent alliances and presidential candidates leading up to the 2023 Presidential and general elections, are discussed in the second part of the study. The third part of the study examines the campaign activities and election promises of the presidential candidates on their social media accounts, and evaluates their video and text messages. The promises used, the duration and quality of the video messages, and the potential attitudes of the target audiences are analyzed within this scope. The fourth part of the study presents the election results. The vote percentages received by the presidential candidates and the vote percentages of the parties participating in the 2023 general elections are shared. The fifth and final part provides a comparison and evaluation of the election results.
