Synopsis
The purpose of this study is to examine the education policies of the AK Party era. In this context, the policies of the party's leaders and incoming and outgoing ministers are examined, and fragments of these components are explored. The first section of the study focuses on policy policy, addressing factors related to the policy process and examining which policy initiatives are influential in the education policymaking process, as well as which fundamental assumptions are directly or indirectly effective in the process. The second section examines the period from the single-party government to the AK Party government in 2002, which survived, the underlying principles of education policy development, and the underlying assumptions of this unified policy. The final section of the study examines the AK Party era, examining ministers who have had a relatively significant impact on education policy and the policies they enacted that have garnered significant attention in Turkey. It examines the root causes of some policies that have left their mark on the Turkish education system over the last 15 years, and which later caused significant tensions in society, even when rumors of such policies were enough to provoke a group to turn against the government.
