Synopsis
Infertility is a serious reproductive health issue affecting 8-12% of couples worldwide. Infertility has many negative effects on couples in physical, biological, psychosocial, cultural, and economic areas. Infertile couples can benefit from digital and innovative applications for various purposes during the infertility process, which significantly affects their lives. These applications can be used to increase couples' compliance with treatment and chances of pregnancy, receive counseling services, obtain information, minimize economic damage, and facilitate access to health services. In addition, these applications have limitations such as privacy protection, ethical issues, data security, the requirement to have internet access, and misinformation. Therefore, it is recommended that these applications be offered with their harms minimized within the principle of usefulness so that couples can exercise their most natural right to have children. In this context, it is extremely important for healthcare professionals, who play a primary role in protecting and promoting health, to follow digital and innovative applications, provide education and counseling services to infertile couples regarding these applications, and evaluate the content of the applications from a professional perspective. The section prepared from this perspective aims to provide healthcare professionals and infertile couples with comprehensive information on digital and innovative applications in infertility.
