Synopsis
This study aims to examine the effects of mindfulness-based psychological preparation programs on performance, emotional regulation, and psychological well-being in athletes. Mindfulness practices enable athletes to direct their attention to present-moment experiences and manage negative thoughts more effectively. Research indicates that such psychological preparation methods enhance both individual and team athletes’ ability to cope with stress and improve performance consistency. Additionally, regular mindfulness practice helps maintain emotional balance, reducing fluctuations in anxiety, anger, and motivation. In terms of psychological well-being, mindfulness-based programs increase self-awareness and self-regulation, thereby enhancing athletes’ overall quality of life. The findings support that mindfulness-based approaches in sports psychology have positive effects on both performance and mental health.
