Synopsis

Mindfulness-based approaches are considered effective strategies that support psychological, neurocognitive, and physiological processes influencing swimming performance. These approaches help athletes enhance attention control, flow experience, anxiety regulation, and motor coordination. Current literature demonstrates that mindfulness interventions improve performance consistency, regulate stress responses, and increase cognitive flexibility in swimmers. However, there is a need for long-term studies involving high-level swimmers and research based on biological and neurocognitive measurements. Future research is expected to provide valuable insights for optimizing mindfulness programs and evaluating their long-term effects on performance and psychological resilience.
