Synopsis
This study aims to present a comprehensive literature review examining the concept of organisational happiness within the context of hotel businesses, framed by the positive organisational behaviour approach. In recent years, within tourism and hospitality literature, positive-oriented approaches focusing not only on employees' negative psychological states but also on their strengths, psychological resources, and well-being have gained increasing prominence. In this context, organisational happiness is considered a holistic concept that reflects employees' psychological, emotional, and social well-being in the workplace and constitutes an organisational climate. This study first examines the theoretical foundations of the positive organisational behaviour approach and the conceptual framework of organisational happiness, followed by an examination of the dimensions of organisational happiness, measurement approaches, and studies conducted in the field of tourism and hospitality. The chapter highlights that organisational happiness is often confused with the concepts of individual well-being and job satisfaction in the existing literature and emphasises that organisational happiness should be considered as a collective climate variable, offering suggestions for future studies.
