Synopsis

The accelerating pace of modern life, increasing workload, digitalization, and time pressure have significantly transformed individuals’ sleep patterns and rest periods. The deterioration of sleep quality and the chronic nature of fatigue have become structural problems in contemporary society, leading to multifaceted health outcomes that extend beyond general health and quality of life to encompass biological, psychological, and social dimensions. Women are more prominently affected by this transformation due to their biological characteristics, hormonal cycles, and the multiple roles they assume throughout the life course. Sexual health, as an integral component of physical, emotional, and social well-being, plays a fundamental role in determining women’s quality of life and overall health status. The concept of sustainable sexual health focuses on the preservation and strengthening of biological, psychological, and environmental conditions that support women’s sexual health across the lifespan. In this context, sleep patterns and fatigue represent critical lifestyle determinants of the sustainability of women’s sexual health. Sleep disturbances and fatigue, which have become increasingly prevalent under modern living conditions, are closely associated with biopsychosocial processes that directly or indirectly influence women’s sexual health. Addressing the effects of sleep and fatigue on women’s health from a holistic perspective is essential for the protection and promotion of women’s sexual health. Within this framework, evaluating the role of sleep and fatigue in women’s sexual health from a sustainability perspective may contribute to strengthening preventive and supportive approaches to women’s health in the context of modern life. This study aims to contribute to the existing literature by examining the role of sleep and fatigue in the sustainability of women’s sexual health within a biopsychosocial framework and from a holistic perspective.
