Synopsis

In the age of globalization and increasingly evident climate change, sustainability has become vital in various aspects of life, including financial management. Financial literacy is also of paramount importance for a better understanding of sustainability by all stakeholders. The term sustainable financial literacy, which combines these two concepts, has begun to be discussed in recent years. Sustainable financial literacy is seen as a concept that can help individuals increase their financial resilience against environmental and climate-related risks, align consumers' savings and investment choices with sustainability preferences, and protect them from emerging risks such as greenwashing. This study first addresses the term financial literacy. Then, the concept of sustainable finance is examined from a sustainability perspective. The study continues by addressing the topic of sustainable financial literacy and concludes with results and recommendations.
