Synopsis

Mobbing is a negative phenomenon that occurs in working life when one or more individuals exhibit deliberate, continuous and systematic aggressive behaviors targeting a specific person or group. These behaviors can be verbal or physical and their main purpose is to cause psychological wear and tear on the victim and to make him/her leave the organization. Today, employees need to participate in governance processes, take initiative, voice their opinions and suggestions, reinforce their sense of belonging and gain awareness of the social and institutional value of the activities they carry out. On the hierarchical level, mobbing can be manifested in the form of vertical pressure by managers against subordinates, horizontal conflict between employees of equal status, and the practice of reverse vertical violence that can be shaped by subordinates against their managers. The main purpose of this study is to address the concept of mobbing, which is one of the factors that seriously affect the productivity and success of employees and businesses in business life, and to draw attention to its consequences. In addition to all these, it is also to bring a new perspective to the subject by suggesting solutions that can be applied to mobbing. In this study, the definition of the concept of mobbing, its causes, types, consequences and solutions for mobbing will be explained.
