Synopsis

This study aims to examine the effects of renewable energy consumption and economic growth on carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions in G7 countries through panel data analysis. Covering the period from 2000 to 2021, this research evaluates the effectiveness of environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation policies. Panel data analysis was used in the study. The findings show that renewable energy consumption has a statistically significant and negative effect on CO₂ emissions, while economic growth has an increasing effect on emissions. These results indicate that energy policies in G7 countries should be directed toward renewable sources in order to achieve sustainable growth targets. The study offers important recommendations to policymakers on developing growth strategies that minimize environmental impacts.
