
Bibliographic Analysis of Articles Published in the Field of Finance with Turkey Addresses: An Application on the Scopus Database (1989-2023)

Synopsis
This study presents a bibliometric analysis of academic publications in the field of finance originating from Turkey. The dataset consists of 536 articles published in the field of finance originating from Turkey between 1989 and 2023. VOSviewer software was used as the main metric tool for visualisation and analysis in the bibliometric analysis. According to the results obtained from the study, the most cited article was ‘Long-Term and Causal Analysis of Energy, Growth, Openness, and Financial Development on Carbon Emissions in Turkey,’ the institutions that cited the most were Bilkent University and Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, and the institution that published the most was Nişantaşı University, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, there was a significant increase in academic publications between 2022 and 2023, the author with the most publications was Saiti, B., the country with the most publications in the field of finance with a Turkish address was Turkey, the most studied topic was published in the fields of economics, econometrics and finance, and when looking at the keywords in the field of finance, the most frequently used keywords were financial development, economic growth, Islamic finance, Turkey, behavioural finance, natural resources and finance. When looking at the relationships between countries, it was found that Turkey has established research networks and collaborations with countries such as the United Kingdom, China, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Germany, Spain, Greece and Portugal. This study, which was conducted in terms of subject scope, database, time frame, and various search criteria, is expected to contribute to the financial literature, as well as provide information to academics who wish to conduct research in this field on topics such as current and popular authors, publications, institutions, and the most frequently studied subject headings, and contribute to future studies.
