Synopsis
This study offers a brief assessment of the quest for truth we have witnessed throughout history, from the past to the present, within the context of the concepts of art and esotericism. Achieving a pure perspective, a common characteristic of art and esotericism, and reaching the essence of concrete realities within life, has enabled the evaluation of these two concepts from a single perspective. The roots of this assessment lie primarily in the esoteric symbols used in medieval and Renaissance artworks. In this context, exploring the reflections of the concept of esotericism on art is crucial for this study. The narrative language and esoteric narrative style employed by the works of El Greco and Jean Delville, included in this study, form one of the fundamental foundations of this study. The work includes works by both medieval and contemporary artists. Furthermore, the esoteric language of these artists' works is explored through randomly selected works.
In this context, the study was structured using a literature review model, a qualitative research method, and a concept map was created based on relevant articles, books, and visuals. This first provides a brief overview of the concept of esotericism and its origins, and then concludes with an examination of the works of El Greco and Jean Delville through esoteric indicators.
