Synopsis
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the financial performance of digital participation banks and traditional participation banks operating in the banking sector in Turkey for the year 2024. In this regard, five financial performance criteria and two digital participation banks and two branch-based (traditional) participation banks were selected for the study. The selected criteria are Total Assets, Funds Raised, Equity, Loans, and Current Tax Liability. The participation banks are TOM Participation Bank, World Participation Bank, Hayat Finans Participation Bank, and Türkiye Emlak Participation Bank. In the application section of the study, two different AHP methods were used to perform financial performance analysis. One of these methods is the CRITIC method. The importance weight levels of financial performance criteria were calculated using the CRITIC method. The second method used is the ARAS method. Using the ARAS method, the final performance success scores for the alternatives were calculated and ranked. Looking at the results obtained from the study, the current tax debt criterion was identified as the most important criterion in the CRITIC method. The analysis also revealed that the second most important criterion in terms of its impact on the study was the total assets criterion. The findings showed that the third most important criterion in terms of its impact on the study was the funds collected criterion. Looking at the analysis results obtained from the ARAS method, it was determined that the most successful bank among participation banks operating in Turkey in 2024 is Dünya Katılım Bank. Again, according to the results obtained, it was determined that the bank with the second-best financial performance is Hayat Finans Katılım Bankası. It was found that the bank ranked last in terms of financial performance is TOM Katılım Bankası.
