Synopsis

Strength training stimulates the athlete's neuromuscular system in terms of both short-term and long-term adaptations, and these adaptations play a decisive role in performance. Neuromuscular adaptations encompass variables such as motor unit synchronization, firing frequency, muscle hypertrophy, and tendon endurance. These processes affect force production, explosive power, movement control, and the reduction of injury risk. The application of different training protocols makes it possible to optimize adaptations in a targeted manner. In this context, individualized strength training programs offer a holistic approach that enhances the athlete's performance and safety.
