Synopsis

The green economic model began to institutionalize after the 2008 financial crisis. Both the search for new economic models and ongoing climate policies have been influential in this development. The Paris Climate Agreement (PCA) and the Covid-19 pandemic have accelerated the implementation of green economy practices. It has been adopted as a strategy by many countries and implemented with carbon neutrality targets. This process represents a new, profound, and comprehensive transformation for businesses operating at both national and international levels. This development has also highlighted the importance of transition and adaptation policies. The reflection of strategies determined within the framework of climate policies in businesses, both mandatorily and voluntarily, has made the green management model important. Furthermore, the inclusive aspect of climate policies at the global level, largely shaped by discussions of just transition, has brought the concepts of democracy, justice, and equality to the forefront. The implementation of green management at the business level within the framework of just transition has been made possible through participatory management practices. Indeed, through participatory management practices, employees do not become alienated from the process, and businesses; By incorporating the ideas, knowledge, skills, and abilities of employees into adaptation and transition policies, they can turn the transformation into an advantage. Similarly, climate policies contribute to the well-being of society. Germany successfully manages this process through participatory governance practices in the context of climate change. The successful implementation of participatory governance practices through consultation and joint decision-making provides significant advantages for employees, employers, and government policies. Indeed, VW, Allianz, Siemens, and IG Metall are some examples of this.
