The book Current Economic Approaches in Tourism aims to evaluate tourism, which holds a significant share in the global economy, from an economic perspective. Tourism's strong relationship with different disciplines enriches and diversifies the work done in the field. Tourism, particularly due to the high economic gains it offers, attracts the attention of both industry professionals and economists, paving the way for important studies on tourism economics. In this context, evaluating tourism issues from an economic perspective is of great importance for both the industry and academic circles. Therefore, it is believed that this study will benefit and inspire students and academics interested in tourism economics topics, while also contributing to the decision-making processes of industry representatives. Furthermore, it is believed that the book will help readers evaluate tourism in depth from an economic perspective. This book, which covers academic research on tourism economics, consists of a total of 7 chapters. The first chapter, titled “Evaluating the Economic Impacts of Tourism from the Perspective of Sustainable Development and Green Economy,” was researched by Hilal Gündoğan. The second chapter, “Tourism Demand and Tourism Supply,” was examined by Emine Keskin Uslu. The third chapter, “Economic Effects of Alternative Tourism,” is addressed by authors Gamze Çidem Çoban and Eda Fındık. The fourth chapter, titled “The Economic Impacts of Competition in Hotel Businesses on the Tourism Sector,” was written by Selim Alan. The fifth chapter, “The Economic Impacts of Tourism: A Global Comparative Assessment,” was examined by Berk Palandökenlier and Ayat Esaa. The sixth chapter, “Examination of Nature-Based Recreational Areas Using Economic Valuation Methods: A Literature Review,” is by Abdulkadir Uyrun and Fırat Arslan, while the final chapter, "Tourism in Currency Shadows: The Dual Impact of Price Competition and Volatility," researched by authors Soner Künç, Süleyman Çelik and Zülfü Yalçın.
