Synopsis

This study examines the Turkish furniture industry from conceptual, economic, and sectoral perspectives and analyzes the 20 most prominent companies operating in the sector. Furniture is defined not only as a functional element that meets basic human needs such as sitting, sleeping, and storage, but also as an architectural and cultural component that shapes spatial atmosphere, aesthetics, and user psychology. Ergonomically designed furniture contributes to physical health, while well-designed and harmonious interiors positively influence psychological well-being. Moreover, furniture preferences are considered indicators of social status, lifestyle, and personal identity. The 20 companies included in this study were selected based on criteria such as production scale, brand recognition, technological infrastructure, logistics capability, design competence, and export potential. These firms lead the sector with Industry 4.0-compatible production systems, extensive domestic and international distribution networks, and a strong focus on original and innovative design.

In conclusion, the Turkish furniture industry successfully combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, enabling it to meet not only domestic demand but also global market expectations. The future of the sector depends on innovation, sustainable production, and design-driven brand value creation. Under the leadership of these pioneering firms, Türkiye continues to strengthen its position in the global furniture market while contributing significant added value to the national economy.
