Synopsis
Technological advancements worldwide, coupled with increased consumption and the adoption of sustainable food concepts to address food distribution shortages, are giving rise to new food sharing methods every day. At the heart of digital sharing platforms lies the idea of sharing surplus food, avoiding waste and throwing it away. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 2019, 25-33% of the total food produced globally is wasted, with an economic value of approximately $990 billion. Furthermore, according to the 2018 Turkey Waste Report, 26 million tons of food are wasted annually. This situation is not conducive to this; platforms that deliver information in the form of information and in the form of digital signals are gaining importance. The aim of this study is to examine digital food sharing platforms operating in Turkey and worldwide. The study analyzes the content of 17 digital platforms established for the purpose of reducing food waste and paying for food. For the platform, you can use a digital form to make payments via electronic message in tandem and well-known art. Because these platforms play a critical role in reducing food waste.
