Synopsis
This study examines the key factors determining the self-financing capacity and financial sustainability of firms operating in the Turkish shipbuilding industry. Characterized by high fixed capital requirements, long production and delivery periods, and a project-based revenue structure, the shipbuilding industry is among the most capital-intensive sectors in which financing decisions play a decisive role in firm performance. In this context, return on assets (ROA) is employed as the dependent variable to represent firms’ internal fund-generating capacity, while the effects of key financial ratios reflecting leverage and liquidity structures on profitability are analyzed.
