Synopsis

Rapid advances in science and technology have led to a substantial transformation in healthcare services, with artificial intelligence (AI)–based applications playing a decisive role in the restructuring of healthcare delivery processes. AI has emerged as a multidimensional technology that supports clinical decision-making, monitors health-related behaviors, and enhances the effectiveness of care services. By enabling healthcare professionals to make timely and evidence-based decisions in areas such as early diagnosis, risk assessment, treatment planning, and care management, AI systems reduce error rates and contribute to improved patient safety and quality of care. Clinical decision support systems, early warning mechanisms, robotic nursing applications, and wearable technologies constitute the primary areas of AI implementation in healthcare. Beyond clinical processes, AI is also widely utilized in nutrition management and the monitoring of metabolic status. Through smart sensors, mobile applications, and wearable devices, individuals’ dietary intake, physical activity levels, and physiological parameters can be monitored in real time. Furthermore, image recognition and machine learning algorithms enable the objective assessment of food types, portion sizes, and caloric content. AI-based nutrition and care systems provide significant contributions to the prevention and management of health conditions such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and malnutrition. They also facilitate the development of personalized care and nutrition plans, particularly for older adults and individuals with chronic conditions. In conclusion, AI-supported care and nutrition applications represent a strategic area of transformation that enhances the effectiveness and sustainability of person-centered, evidence-based healthcare services.
