Synopsis

This book chapter, aims to evaluate the role of the stock market and foreign exchange reserves in the policies developed and implemented by the central bank within the scope of the market. In this context, the definition of foreign exchange reserves has been made, the connection between central banks and monetary policies has been established, information has been provided regarding the objectives of the central banks in their practices and policies and the tools they use regarding the reserve development of the central bank in Turkey. Afterwards, the elements affecting the foreign exchange reserves in Turkey and the effects of reserve changes on the financial markets have been evaluated. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the central bank policies are highly effective in changing and maintaining the financial market balances. In addition, it has been observed that economic growth is also affected by the central bank's policies. In the conclusion section of the study, suggestions have been made by showing the effects of the central bank's policies.
