Synopsis

This article examines the possibility of an indigenous philosophy nourished by Anatolia’s historical and cultural heritage within the context of the debate on universality and particularity in philosophy. The study analyzes Anatolia’s intellectual legacy, ranging from Ancient Greek thought to Islamic philosophy, from Sufism to modern Turkish thought, and discusses how this legacy can offer original contributions to contemporary philosophical problems. The article argues that the idea of indigenous philosophy should not be reduced to opposition to the West or to cultural isolation; rather, it represents an investigative mode of thinking that can develop in dialogue with universal philosophy.
