The aim of this study is to conduct a bibliometric analysis of graduate theses written in Türkiye between 1985 and 2024 on the concept of public service. The main research question is: “What is the status of graduate studies on the concept of public service within the graduate theses conducted in the field of Public Administration in Türkiye, when examined in terms of various variables?”

The population of the research consists of 968 graduate theses registered in the YÖKTEZ database between 1985 and 2024. The bibliometric analysis method was employed. Through this method, data were obtained regarding the publication year, university, institute, advisor title, thesis type, and the methods and techniques used in the 968 theses related to the concept of “public service” registered in YÖKTEZ. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 29 and WordArt software, and the results were transformed into tables and graphics.

According to the findings, the lowest number of studies on the concept of public service was produced in 1985, 1986, 1990, and 1991 (1 thesis each), while the highest number was in 2019 (127 theses). A total of 136 different universities produced studies on this concept, with Ankara University having the highest number of theses (123). Regarding thesis type, 77.99% (755) of the theses were master's theses. Among the 214 theses most associated with the field of Public Administration, 194 were produced under Social Sciences Institutes. It was also concluded that qualitative methods were used most frequently in these theses and that they were predominantly supervised by academic advisors holding the title of Professor (Prof. Dr.).
