Synopsis

The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of psychology-themed graduate theses written in the context of tennis in Turkey, revealing trends, subject headings, methodological preferences, and theoretical frameworks in the academic literature. Using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research designs, a total of 59 master's and doctoral theses published between 2008 and 2025 and available in the Higher Education Council National Thesis Center database were examined. The theses were categorized according to gender, thesis type, year, department distribution, psychological topics (motivation, stress, attention, mental resilience, etc.), research method, data collection tools used, university, and study group. The findings show that academic interest in tennis has increased in recent years, with topics such as performance psychology, mental skills in sports, attention, and motivation coming to the fore. However, quantitative methods were predominantly used. The research provides a literature map for academics and practitioners working in the field of sports psychology, as well as findings that can guide future studies.
