Workplace Exclusion and Intrapreneurship
Synopsis
Contemporary organizations are compelled to adopt an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset in order to sustain their existence in the face of rapidly changing environmental conditions, intense competition, and continuously advancing technology. At the center of this mindset are employees, who constitute the most important resource of organizations. It is of great importance for organizational success that employees not only fulfill their job responsibilities but also contribute to the organization as innovative, proactive, and risk-taking individuals.
The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between workplace organizational ostracism and employees’ intrapreneurial tendencies. In this context, data obtained through a survey method from 386 employees working in enterprises operating in the Erzurum Organized Industrial Zone were analyzed. The results of the statistical analyses revealed a negative and significant relationship between organizational ostracism and intrapreneurial tendency. The findings indicate that as employees’ perceptions of ostracism increase, their tendency to engage in intrapreneurial behaviors decreases.
Organizations’ ability to gain a competitive advantage depends on creating a work environment that supports innovative thinking, strengthens communication, and enables employees to feel valued. In this regard, preventing negative behaviors such as organizational ostracism and fostering an organizational climate that encourages intrapreneurship are of great importance for both managers and practitioners.
This book has been prepared with the hope of contributing to researchers working in the fields of organizational behavior and entrepreneurship, as well as managers and all readers interested in the subject.
