Synopsis
The coach-athlete relationship is a multidimensional process that shapes the performance and psychological development of athletes. This interaction directly affects athletes' unconscious processes, emotional responses, and motivation levels. The psychodynamic approach makes it possible to understand athletes' unconscious responses and develop individualized guidance strategies accordingly. A supportive and trust-based relationship increases athletes' motivation, facilitates stress and anxiety management, and strengthens performance and psychological adjustment at both individual and team levels.
In conclusion, it can be stated that the psychodynamic structure of the coach-athlete relationship stands out as a fundamental factor in shaping both technical performance and psychological adjustment in the sports environment. Taking into account athletes' unconscious processes, emotional perceptions, and interactions with their coaches allows coaches to develop individualized and effective guidance strategies.
